Alessandro Negrete

Alessandro Negrete, also known as Ale in the community, is a movement leader with over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit philanthropy and government sector.1 He has held various positions at East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice (EYCEJ), including Development and Communications Lead and Communications Director.25

As a queer undocumented immigrant, Alessandro considers himself part of the communities he works with.1 His approach to his work is community-centered, believing in the power of communities to create their own solutions.1

Professional Experience

At EYCEJ, Alessandro has been instrumental in:

• Supporting the organization in building a power-building infrastructure that reflects their community-up model1
• Serving on several of the Southeast LA Collaborative's committees2

Alessandro currently serves as ABC's Director of Strategic Initiatives and Fund Development.1 In this role, he:

• Leads key strategic initiatives and workstreams
• Strengthens the effectiveness and efficiency of ABC's internal processes and systems
