Alena Hutchinson

Alena Hutchinson is a highly skilled professional with a background in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering. She holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University.
Alena has a diverse educational background, having also studied at Monroe Community College. Her passion lies in challenging and innovative work environments that require both critical and creative thinking.
Currently, Alena works as a Software Engineer at Klaviyo, where she applies her expertise in coding and problem-solving. Previously, she gained experience as a Student Engineer at RedRoute and as a Teaching Assistant for CS 4750/5750: Foundations of Robotics at Cornell University.
Alena's research experience includes roles at the Robotic Personal Assistants Lab as a Graduate Researcher and the Autonomous Systems Lab as an Undergraduate Researcher at Cornell University. She also contributed to curriculum development at the Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Instructional Labs.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Alena enjoys outdoor activities such as rock climbing and cross-country skiing. She has shared her passion for rock climbing as an instructor at Cornell Outdoor Education and holds a PSIA-AASI Level 1 certification as a Ski & Snowboard Instructor at Hunt Hollow Ski Club.
Alena has a strong background in leadership and organizational roles, having been a Founder & Team Lead at the Dilmun Hill Barn Project and held various positions at the Dilmun Hill Student-Run Farm, including Manager and Steering Committee Member.
