Alejandra Dean

Alejandra Dean is currently serving as the Assistant Digital Records Archivist at the Massachusetts Archives. In her role, she focuses on the active digital preservation of electronic records, ensuring their integrity and usability over extended periods. This involves streamlining records requests and enhancing public access to these records, which in turn allows staff to dedicate more time to other important tasks. Dean has emphasized the significance of maintaining a trusted repository for permanent electronic records, which facilitates better collaboration with state agencies for transferring records that may be at risk due to being stored on local databases and legacy systems.12

Throughout her career, Alejandra has held various positions in the archival field, including internships that have contributed to her expertise in digital archiving. Her work has been recognized within the archival community, particularly during events celebrating American Archives Month.3
