Zygmunt is the director of policy and public affairs at Pfizer, which is an industry partner of the SCREEN4CARE project.12 SCREEN4CARE is an EU-funded initiative that aims to have every child born in Europe undergo genetic screening at birth for a wide variety of rare diseases.12 The project involves genetically screening about 25,000 newborns for 245 treatable rare diseases.2
Zygmunt believes that adopting a uniform approach to newborn screening across EU Member States is important to ensure equitable and timely access to rare disease diagnosis for European citizens.12

Zygmunt was involved in the COLLABORATE initiative, which was a first-of-its-kind multistakeholder expert consensus paper aimed at understanding the challenges faced by people with adult-onset rare diseases.5
