Albert Hwang
VP of Software Product at Looking Glass Factory
Albert Hwang is a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in building kinesthetically engaging digital experiences. Passionate about 3D Interaction Design (IXD) in augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR), Albert's unconventional background brings a unique perspective to the field. His diverse experience includes engaging with various physical and behavioral 3D development traditions, such as dance, digital installation art, and theater, equipping him with innovative tools and practices for developing cutting-edge 3D solutions. Albert is eager to collaborate with organizations to socialize these innovations across various industries.
Throughout his career, Albert has achieved significant milestones including publishing an IXD framework in Unity for Vive, designing and publishing a 3D IXD framework for a concept AR system, and presenting it at national conferences and through a successful Kickstarter campaign. He also architected and supervised the construction of the world's largest Volumetric Display as a core member of Lumarca. Additionally, Albert has co-authored papers, published tutorials, co-hosted panels, and nurtured a community around Liquid dance, a unique dance form that integrates virtual objects in physical space.
In 2013, Albert transitioned to Movable Ink as the sole solution engineer, eventually leading a team of four individuals and managing the development integrations with nearly 200 enterprise clients. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theater from New York University, Albert's professional journey has seen him hold diverse roles, such as VP of Software Product, Developer and Designer at Looking Glass Factory, UX Designer at Oculus VR, and Lead Solution Engineer at Movable Ink, among several other notable positions.
