Sheikha Alanoud bint Hamad Al Thani is a prominent Qatari businesswoman who has played a significant role in the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Authority. She served as the Managing Director of Business Development at the QFC Authority from 2017, where she was responsible for launching initiatives to promote employment during the COVID-19 pandemic in Qatar.124 In 2023, she was appointed as the Chief Business Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the QFC, making her the first woman and the youngest person to serve on the centre's executive committee.13
Sheikha Alanoud has a distinguished educational background, having attended prestigious institutions such as the London School of Economics, University of Oxford, and HEC Paris. She also holds an executive education degree from the Qatar Leadership Centre Rising Leaders Program.1
In addition to her roles at the QFC, Sheikha Alanoud has been involved in various organizations. She was the Qatar Country Director for Silatech, a social initiative aimed at providing employment opportunities for young people across the Arab world. She has also served on the boards of several organizations including Tomouh, How Women Work, and i2Co School of Transformative Leadership.1
Her achievements have been recognized with several awards, including being named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2021 and receiving the Arab Woman of the Year Award in 2022. She was also listed by Forbes as one of the 50 Most Powerful Businesswomen in the Middle East and North Africa.1
