    Alan Toy is a dedicated lifelong activist in the disability community, focusing on individual and community-based empowerment. He has held various impactful roles in organizations such as the UCLA Center for Neighborhood Knowledge, LA Homecare Workers Union, and Access Services.

    With a background in acting for over 30 years, Alan has been instrumental in advocating for better portrayals of individuals with disabilities in the entertainment industry.

    His achievements extend to public service as he served as a twice-elected member of the Santa Monica Rent Control Board, member of the California State Independent Living Council, and holds positions in the ACLU, including the president of the Board of Directors of the ACLU of Southern California.

    Alan holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Cal Arts and a Master's degree in Urban Planning from the UCLA School of Public Policy and Social Research.
