Alan Dorin

Alan Dorin is a Professor in the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University in Australia.12 He leads the Computational and Collective Intelligence group within the Department of Data Science and AI.13 Dorin is also the Co-Editor in Chief of the journal Artificial Life published by MIT Press.13

His research focuses on:

1. Artificial Life and ecological simulation
2. Technology's role in ecological sciences and human creativity
3. Key attributes of organisms in complex environments
4. Insect-plant interactions, particularly bees and flowers
5. Pollination processes and their impact on evolution

Dorin's work aims to improve agriculture, horticulture, and natural ecosystem maintenance.14 He promotes interdisciplinary understanding of technology, society, and the natural environment.1
