Alain Swolfs

Alain Swolfs is a prominent Belgian comic book artist and writer. He was born on June 19, 1958, in Sint-Truiden, Belgium. After studying graphic arts at the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels, he began his career in the comic book industry in 1982. Swolfs' biggest success came in 1991 when he created the western-themed comic book series "Durango." The series, which follows the adventures of a wandering gunfighter in the Wild West, has since become a cult classic and has been translated into several languages.

Apart from "Durango," Swolfs has also created several other comic book series, including "Lonesome," "Black Hills," and "Legende." His unique style, which blends realistic imagery and detailed storytelling, has earned him a loyal readership and critical acclaim. In addition to his work as a comic book artist and writer, Swolfs has also contributed to various film and television projects as a storyboard artist and designer.

Swolfs continues to be an active member of the Belgian comic book scene and regularly participates in conferences, art exhibitions, and other cultural events. He lives in Brussels with his wife and children.
