Al Zindiq is a seasoned creative senior data science and engineering technical manager, with over 15 years of experience in the data/software industry. Having held key positions in top-tier organizations, including Dyson, Gocompare.Com, and Hewlett-Packard, he specializes in leading large distributed engineering teams, key partner in strategy definition influencing CxO-level decisions firsthand, communication at senior levels, and technological strategy definition and implementation. Al holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Cardiology, Biophysics, Mathematical modeling, Electrical Engineering (Telematics), and MSc in Information and communication Systems, Telecommunication Engineering, and Pharmacology, alongside a BSc, Electronics. Also, he is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Pedagogy, research leadership at the University of Bristol, and a former University of Bristol Reader.
Al's love for the human brain, cognition, and technology fueled him to venture into developing expertise in data strategy development, execution, data analysis and modelling in social, biological and operational computing, middleware systems specialist (Cloud and data management systems), automation, forecasts, anomaly detection, component analysis, likeness recommendation, regression, actuarial estimates, and machine learning (support vector machine, random forest, LSTM, Bayesian filtering), amongst others. Al loves to tame counter-intuitive issues and busting assumptions, although big and overlooked problems are usually the priority. His lecturing experience at a world top 60 Uni allows him to explain non-trivial statistical, algorithmic concepts simply, catering for the audience.
