Al Rottkamp is an innovative healthcare technology professional with more than 20 years of experience in various aspects of healthcare technology, clinical engineering & IT, medical device-EMR integration, project management, performance improvement, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and organizational development.

With a background in asset, service, problem, and incident management, Al has worked in multi-hospital settings, trauma centers, and ambulatory centers across different states, demonstrating a proven track record of leading efficient, financially sound department operations aligned with hospital strategic goals.

Al excels at fostering staff development, teamwork, and growth within Clinical Engineering-IT departments, implementing methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, ITIL, and Project Management to drive service excellence. He has successfully led capital planning, managed vendor contracts, and achieved cost savings through innovative technologies like RFID systems and Telemetry PAC monitoring.

His project management expertise includes overseeing equipment projects for new hospital openings, EMR-Vital Sign Monitor integration, and life cycle/capital planning for various medical specialties. Al has also spearheaded performance improvement initiatives in areas such as IV pump utilization, technology standardization, falls reduction, and workload optimization.

In terms of compliance, Al has a strong record of ensuring adherence to various regulatory bodies and standards including TJC, CAP, AABB, FDA, NJDOH, AHCA, IS Audit, and state and national pharmacy boards. He has also developed and implemented a Medical Technology Cybersecurity Plan to address evolving cybersecurity threats in healthcare.

Al's educational background includes an MBA in Accounting & IS, a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering & Medicine, a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
