Managing Partner at Interlock Capital
Al Bsharah is the Managing Partner at Interlock Capital, a startup fund focused on community-driven investments. His approach is designed to enable both seasoned and aspiring angel investors to participate in promising companies within their financial means. Al's entrepreneurial journey began in 1998 when he transitioned from the automotive industry in Detroit to become the second employee and equity owner of a San Diego startup, which was later acquired. This marked the start of over two decades in entrepreneurship, during which he founded three companies, raised capital from venture capitalists and angel investors, and invested in more than 100 startups as an angel investor or fund manager.1
In addition to his role at Interlock Capital, Al has been actively involved in mentoring through programs such as Techstars and the Founder Institute, helping guide emerging entrepreneurs. His expertise lies in areas such as product development, operations, automation, fundraising, and storytelling.1 Al holds degrees from both Techstars and the Founder Institute accelerator programs, where he continues to contribute by mentoring new cohorts.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Al enjoys spending time with his family, engaging in beach volleyball, and maintaining a connection with the startup ecosystem.1
