Ajit Pattnaik is a seasoned professional with 37 years of diverse experience in managing forest, wildlife, natural resources, biodiversity, and wetlands.
He is an expert in project formulation, planning, management, research, monitoring, evaluation, and extension of forestry, biodiversity, natural resources, coastal zone management, wetland restoration, ecotourism, watershed management, and community development projects.
His notable achievement includes leading the successful restoration project of the Chilika Lake, a coastal wetland of international importance, which earned him the prestigious Ramsar Wetland Conservation Award in 2002.
Ajit has extensive experience in holistic management of coastal wetlands, with a focus on restoration, sustainable management, community participation, and ecosystem approach.
He formulated the World Bank aided Integrated Coastal Zone Management Project for Odisha Coast and played a key role in the climate change action plan of Odisha.

Throughout his career, he has held various senior positions in organizations like The World Bank, JICA, Wetlands International South Asia, National Center for Sustainable Coastal Management, and more.
