Ajay Mathuru

Ajay Sriram Mathuru is a systems neuroscientist focusing on understanding neural circuits in animals.

He specializes in investigating the mechanisms underlying reward and aversion using the translucent zebrafish model.

Ajay achieved a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the National Center for Biological Sciences.

He pursued a Master's degree in Plant Sciences from the University of Hyderabad and a Bachelor's degree in Genetics, Microbiology, and Chemistry from Osmania University.

Ajay's educational journey also includes studies at Kendriya Vidyalaya.

Currently, Ajay serves as an Assistant Professor at Yale-NUS College.

Previously, he held roles as a Principal Investigator at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, Senior Research Fellow at A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research, Research Fellow at Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory.

His expertise lies in exploring the functional and anatomical organization of neural circuits to comprehend animal behavior.
