Ahmed Alaskar

Ahmed Alaskar is a highly experienced physician, researcher, and academician with over 20 years of experience in the field.

He served as the executive director of a prominent biomedical research facility for a decade and has been instrumental in founding various significant medical programs and initiatives.

Notable accomplishments include founding the Department of Oncology and a stem cell transplantation program at a large tertiary care hospital, co-founding the Hematology fellowship training program and the Saudi Stem Cell Donor Registry, as well as establishing a national cord blood bank.

In 2010, he founded and became the President of the Saudi Scientific Society of Blood and Marrow Transplantation (SSBMT), a role he continues to hold.

Currently, Ahmed Alaskar is the Executive Director of a major biomedical research center focusing on innovative and impactful research spanning basic, translational, and clinical domains.

Throughout his career, he has authored and co-authored numerous publications, guided and supervised medical residents, fellows, and PhD students, chaired various medical departments, led multiple local and national committees, and is an active member of several international societies.

His educational background includes studying FRCPC in Adult Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation at The University of British Columbia.

He has a rich background in research, academia, and clinical practice, making him a prominent figure in the medical community.
