Vishwajeet Kumar is a renowned public health researcher who has dedicated his life to ending the staggering number of infant mortalities in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Armed with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Bihar and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Disease Control from The Johns Hopkins University, he has spent the past seventeen years designing, discovering, and implementing effective, just, and lasting solutions to combat this great humanitarian tragedy. He is currently the CEO and Principal Scientist at Community Empowerment Lab, an organization he founded that prioritizes hearing, respecting, and including the voices of those they aim to impact in decision-making. Prior to this, he served as the Principal Investigator at THE INCLEN TRUST INTERNATIONAL, and as the Director of the Johns Hopkins-King George’s Medical University Collaborative Center at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He was also an Associate Faculty at Johns Hopkins University.
