Led assessment of the engagement of major global development organizations in inclusive insurance to guide the Microinsurance Network with their donor strategy.

Liz developed strategies to grow women-owned micro and small enterprises, promote financial inclusion among unbanked smallholder farmers, mitigate risks for vulnerable populations, and build financial capabilities. She directed and provided technical support to large agricultural value chain development projects and provided technical direction to the financial services portfolio. She was responsible for directing PROFIT+ in Zambia, a $24M Feed the Future project to increase food security and decrease poverty by increasing agricultural productivity and facilitating inclusive access to markets and private sector investment in target value chains for smallholder farmers and agro-enterprises.  Accomplishments include: 	Co-designed, obtained funding ($2M) and managed the Women’s Leadership in Small and Medium Enterprises (WLSME) project in Kyrgyzstan, a project which aims to grow women’s micro and small businesses. 	Trained US and local staff to conduct field research on the barriers facing women-owned micro and SMEs in Kyrgyzstan. Summarized findings in a Gender Assessment for USAID. 	Saved project resources by leading effort to analyze whether to pursue a weather-based index insurance for smallholder farmers for NAFAKA (a $30M Feed the Future project) in Tanzania. 	Assisted KazMicrofinance to provide 53,000 group microcredit clients with financial education.

Liz led client assessment, evaluation, market research, and microinsurance activities at MFO, an innovative and entrepreneurial non-profit. She managed multiple research teams including consultants, and liaised with donors, partner institutions and sub-grantees. She also managed selected financial education projects. Liz has developed learning agendas, monitoring and evaluation plans and evaluation designs. She conducted evaluations of health microinsurance, financial education and insurance education programs. She has some experience with financial diaries studies. She was responsible for donor reporting. Liz has traveled extensively to oversee and conduct primary field research with microfinance clients and other low-income populations in developing countries for her market demand and client outcomes work.	Designed, managed and implemented field research to assess the outcomes of a girls’ savings and financial education program in Mongolia. 	Increased the awareness and understanding of insurance in Kenya through a consumer education radio campaign aimed at building an insurance culture. Liz oversaw implementation of Group Guaranteed Lending & Savings (GGLS) programs in South Asia, Latin America, and Africa. She provided intensive technical support to build the local capacity for microfinance institutions focused on serving poor women. She conducted market research on the demand for savings in Guatemala and AIMs impact assessments of microcredit programs in Afghanistan (Save the Children GGLS project), Morocco (Zakoura Microcredit) and Mali (Soro Yiriwaso).
