Lucian Tarnowski is a prominent name in the world of open global societies and online communities. With over a decade of experience designing and powering virtual teams and communities, he is the founding curator and executive director of Civana, a public good community and collaboration platform. Civana aims to maximize the impact of movements, communities, and multi-stakeholder initiatives on the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Lucian has been recognized for his contributions to society and research around the social science behind communities and knowledge sharing.

He has spoken at several prestigious gatherings such as Davos, various World Economic Forum meetings, TEDx, and the Impact Summit, among others. He has also provided advice and services to several Fortune 1000 clients, including GE, Lockheed Martin, and collaborative communities such as Institute for Healthcare Improvement and Geinsinger Health. Lucian runs Take Heart India, a 53-year-old no overheads charity that empowers visually challenged and handicapped people in rural India with vocational employment skills.
