Niki Beattie is a highly respected financial markets expert with over two decades of experience. After starting her career in technology at Security Pacific/Bank of America, she spent 14 years at Merrill Lynch, reaching the position of Managing Director and Head of Europe, Middle East, and Africa Market Structure (EMEA). In 2008, she founded Market Structure Partners (MSP), which provides consulting services to market participants, clearing houses, and technology firms related to regulatory and technology changes within financial market structure.

Niki is also a Non-Executive Director of IRESS, Kepler Cheuvreux International Ltd, Borsa Istanbul, and The Moscow Exchange. She is the Chairman of both XTX Markets and Aquis and is a member of the Secondary Markets Advisory Committee of the European Securities Markets Authority. Niki has played a critical role in creating competition and change within the European trading environment. She helped develop the trade reporting system BOAT, acted as a key founder of Virt-x and Turquoise, and worked closely with UK and European regulators on the evolution of MiFID.

Niki holds a first-class BSc in Information Systems and Management from Birkbeck College, University of London. Her vast knowledge and opinions on market structure, exchanges, clearing, and electronic trading have earned her a strong following from both buy and sell-side market participants.
