John Schoenecker
John Schoenecker is a seasoned Senate counsel, investigator, and trial attorney with extensive experience in tax law. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Illinois (currently inactive), and Virginia (associate) in addition to the United States Supreme Court, United States Tax Court, United States Court of Federal Claims, District Court for the District of Columbia, District Court for the Central District of Illinois, and District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Schoenecker holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Northwestern University School of Law, a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Journalism from Northwestern University, and has studied at the Washington University School of Law and Gonzaga College High School.
Before joining the private sector, he worked at the U.S. Department of Justice as a trial attorney and law clerk at the Illinois Attorney General's Office. Later, he was Tax Counsel at the Tax Executives Institute, Senior Investigative Counsel and Crime Counsel at the United States Senate, and Tax Counsel at the U.S. House of Representatives. In addition, he worked at Reed Smith LLP as an associate attorney and as a media planner at FCB Global.
Schoenecker has an interesting background, including his experience working as a beer vendor at the Chicago Cubs.
