Aditi Borkar
We are hiring - Founder, Director RHy-X Limited - Anne McLaren Fellow, University of Nottingham
Aditi Borkar is an Assistant Professor in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of Nottingham.34 She joined the university as an Anne McLaren Fellow in 2019 and was appointed to her current position in November 2023.4
Dr. Borkar's research focuses on studying the structure and dynamics of ribonucleoprotein (RNP) complexes.5 She is pioneering innovative approaches to investigate RNA structures and interactions, including the integration of cryo-OrbiSIMS with computational modeling and metadynamics simulations.26
Her recent work, published in Nature Communications in May 2024, demonstrates the use of these integrated techniques to enhance RNA structure prediction at atomic resolution.2 This research addresses limitations in conventional structural biology techniques for deciphering complex RNA structures and dynamic interactions.
Dr. Borkar's academic background includes experience in structural biology, particularly in crystallography. She has previously worked on the crystal structure of the C-terminal domain of DENR, contributing to understanding translation initiation and ribosomal recycling mechanisms.1
At the University of Nottingham, she is affiliated with the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science, as well as the Centre for Applied Bioethics.37 Her work is supported by the Anne McLaren Fellowship from the University of Nottingham.6
