Adam Bennett
Adam Bennett is the Associate Director of the Autism Center for Excellence at Western Michigan University (WMU). He holds a doctoral degree and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D). In his role, he oversees operations at the Kalamazoo Autism Center, which provides therapeutic services and support for individuals with autism and their families. The center focuses on evidence-based treatment, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and offers various programs aimed at improving the quality of life for its clients.
Bennett has been involved in expanding the center's services, especially in response to a significant $4 million funding boost from the state of Michigan aimed at enhancing support for individuals with severe behavioral challenges. He emphasizes the importance of addressing the needs of this population and building a workforce capable of providing effective care.12
In addition to his administrative duties, Bennett is also a part-time Clinical Supervisor, contributing to the training of students from various disciplines, including psychology and speech pathology, who work directly with clients at the center.23 His work is pivotal in ensuring that the center not only serves its current clients effectively but also prepares future professionals in the field of autism services.
