Sustainable Development Strategist

Lead global sustainability strategies related to McDonald’s restaurants, offices and the experience of customers and communities via the restaurants. Oversee the company’s net zero climate strategy focused on built environment including renewable energy, green design, and circularity for packaging, toys and waste. This includes working cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Restaurant Design, Development, Operations and 100+ markets to enable progress and solutions toward our sustainability goals. Drive climate strategy to ensure internal roadmaps and external engagement and communications about actions and vision. Ensure intersectionality with our agriculture, nature (forests, water, biodiversity), human rights and community strategies. Ensure long-term value and resiliency of the enterprise by integrating sustainable practices.

Director, Global Sustainability & ESG Strategy

Oversee McDonald's sustainability goals and platform ("Scale for Good") across five pillars and multiple business functions: Youth Opportunity, Food Quality & Nutrition, Beef Sustainability, Climate Action, Packaging & Recycling. Managed performance tracking and metrics, leadership dashboards and communications, collaboration across teams to implement and align actions and strategy for a holistic approach with 100+ global markets, suppliers, franchisees and business units and departments. During the global pandemic, seconded to work on supply and facilities contingencies to manage shutdowns and organized a food waste initiative to support local communities and avoid environmental impacts.

Manager, Global Sustainability Strategy & Alignment

Lead strategic engagement and partnerships with external stakeholder such as with World Wildlife Fund, United Nations Environment Program, World Economic Forum, Conservation International to inform companies sustainability strategies, advocate for policies, catalyze conversations and grow brand trust. Launched McDonald's global goals on Climate Action and Circularity as part of Scale for Good platform with support from key stakeholders through high impact communications and events such as COP, UNGA, Climate Week and GCAS.

Program Assessment Specialist

Assist in research studies on global food security, regional economic competitiveness, volunteerism and charitable giving by School of Public Service professors including interviewing subjects, coordinating samples and networks, creating databases, coding and analysis. Coordinate process and generate application for new accreditation of degree program by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration, or NASPAA, the global standard in public service education. Coordinate the design and editing of the School's quarterly newsletter and other communication materials.

Project Coordinator - Research and Communications

Managed the launch of an innovative knowledge management project to capture best practices and lessons learned from the tsunami recovery and reconstruction. I served as the point person for Solution Exchange for the initial 6 months of pre-launch and launch including organizing and training the permanent national project manager and 14 member moderator team in a 2 week Solution Exchange training given by SolEx trainers from UNDP India. My role included managing daily operations and 14 member team, editing daily bilingual postings and monitoring of deadlines and deliverables, writing/designing program advocacy materials and liaising with local humanitarian stakeholders.
