Karen Llagas
Karen Llagas is a multitalented professional with a diverse background in various industries. She attended Ateneo de Manila University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Economics with a Minor in French Studies. Later, she received her Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing from Warren Wilson College.
With years of working experience in the corporate world, Karen has held positions as a Business Consultant, Data Analyst, Tagalog Interpreter, Tagalog Localization Specialist, and Tagalog Language Expert and Tester. Additionally, she worked as an Interviewer IV at the Cancer Prevention Institute of California (CPIC).
Furthermore, Karen's interactions at universities, such as UC Berkeley, allowed her to teach Tagalog classes to students. Her expertise in language interpretation and translation has earned her numerous accolades. To add to this list, she also helped develop the customizable test for the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) in Tagalog.
Karen is passionate about creative writing as well. As a poet and teacher, she has inspired young minds to hone their literary skills. She has volunteered and worked as a Poet-Teacher at California Poets in the Schools.
