Richard Sookraj has over five years of experience in public policy, stakeholder relations, community activism, and political management. With a Bachelor's degree in Media, Information & Technoculture/Political Science from The University of Western Ontario, he went on to study several executive education programs at prestigious institutions such as the Ryerson University, University of Toronto School of Public Policy and Governance (SPPG), and University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management.

He has held various roles in the government sector, including Director of Legislative Affairs & Issues at the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development. In this role, he organized and executed stakeholder and constituency events for high-profile politicians, managed databases with 200,000+ members, and ran province-wide social media accounts. His experience also includes managing MPP relations, policy advising, and securing organizational grants.

As a former Policy and Government Relations Officer and Liaison at the Toronto Region Board of Trade, Richard has facilitated communication between the private and public sectors. Additionally, he has held positions in student government, co-founded the London Youth Advisory Council, and served as Director of Finance for the Mayor's Youth Advisory Committee at the City of Mississauga.
