Abigail Swann
Associate Professor at University of Washington
Abigail Swann is an associate professor with expertise in ecoclimate, biosphere-climate feedbacks, climate and ecosystem modeling, and the carbon cycle. Her work focuses on the interactions between terrestrial ecosystems and the global climate, analyzing transitions, thresholds, and feedbacks within the ecosystem-climate system. Abigail holds a PhD in Earth Science from the University of California, Berkeley, a MA in Earth Science from Columbia University, and a BA in Earth Science from the University of California, Berkeley. She is currently affiliated with the University of Washington as an associate professor in Atmospheric Sciences and Biology Departments, having previously served as an Assistant Professor at the same institution. Prior to her current position, she was a Giorgio Ruffolo Post-doctoral Fellow in Sustainability Science at Harvard University, as well as a Post-Doctoral Researcher and a PhD Student at the University of California, Berkeley. Abigail's research is of global scale, examining how terrestrial ecosystems impact not only their local environment but also regions interconnected through atmospheric circulation.
