Abigail Stewart-Kahn is a social worker, public servant, and leader with two decades of experience in executive management, strategic planning, philanthropy, program development, and direct service. Her career is driven by her commitment to creating change with and on behalf of vulnerable communities and individuals through clinical intervention, system enhancements, impact programs, and advocacy work. She holds a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Religion from Swarthmore College. In 2017, she joined the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH) as the Director of Strategic Partnerships, expanded into communications and public affairs, and currently serves as interim Director. She manages a $300 million dollar budget and oversees a staff of over 100 with more than 50 provider partners. Her goal is to make homelessness rare, brief, and one time through strategy, culture development, and partnerships.
