Abhishek Gupta

Abhishek Gupta is an associate professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at The Ohio State University.4 He completed his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering (2014), MS in Applied Mathematics (2012), and MS in Aerospace Engineering (2011) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).1 Prior to that, he obtained his undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India (2005-09).1

Gupta's research focuses on theoretical problems in stochastic control theory, game theory, optimization, and information theory, with applications in secure cyberphysical systems and market mechanisms for deep renewable integration.1 He has published extensively in these areas, with over 1,650 citations to his work.2

2. Markov perfect equilibria for linear-Gaussian games with asymmetric information
3. Learning in Markov decision processes under constraints

Gupta has over 14 years of research and development experience in optimization and reinforcement learning.3 He is actively involved in supervising undergraduate and MS students for honors thesis and MS thesis projects related to smart grid, cybersecurity, and machine learning.1

As of September 2024, Gupta announced that The Ohio State University is seeking applications for a chaired position in ECE at the early full professor level5, indicating his involvement in the department's growth and recruitment efforts.
