Abdishakur Jama
Abdishakur Jama is an accomplished professional with expertise in finance and economics. Born and raised in Somalia, Jama studied at the University of Nairobi in Kenya, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He later continued his education at the University of Leicester in England, where he received a Master's in Business Administration.
Jama has accumulated over 15 years of experience in finance working with various organizations. He began his career as a financial manager at a private company in Somalia. Later, he worked as a financial analyst with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Nairobi. He then moved to the United States, where he worked for the World Bank in Washington, D.C. for over a decade. During his tenure at the World Bank, he served as a senior financial management specialist in different units.
Jama has also played a key role in designing and implementing World Bank-funded projects in various countries such as Uganda, South Sudan, and Yemen. He has vast experience in financial management, risk management, and project management. Jama is a certified public accountant (CPA) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.
Jama has written several publications on financial management, corporate governance, and public financial management topics. He is a frequent speaker on finance and economics topics and has presented at various conferences around the world.
