After graduation, he gained experience in consulting working with Fortune 500 companies and startups, focusing on strategic planning crucial to the operational efficiency of his clients. Xu has also worked with nonprofits in the areas of civic technology, environmental justice, and education.

Xu has a strong interest in the cross-section of technology and social work, utilizing his skills in R, Python, SQL, Alteryx, Stata, and Tableau to work on projects that have a positive impact on communities in need. In addition to his professional commitments, Xu is an avid photographer and puzzle game enthusiast.
