Aaron Smith is a dedicated professional with a strong commitment to fixing education and enhancing skill development for students and employees. Prior to the pandemic, he recognized the broken silos in education within K12 institutions and corporations.
Aaron's expertise lies in areas such as Workplace Readiness, STEM and EdTech integration, Career and Technical Education (CTE), Autonomous Learning, and the Future of Work. He aims to improve the quality of life through skill development and enhancement by working with school districts, businesses, networks, and organizations.
With a Ph.D. in Education Leadership from Old Dominion University and a Master's in Mathematics and Teaching from Christopher Newport University, Aaron has a strong academic background to support his professional endeavors.
In his career, Aaron has held various roles including Program Administrator at Newport News Public Schools, Chief Academic Officer at Unifinity, and Assistant Principal at Newport News Public Schools. He has also served as a School Administrator in both Newport News Public Schools and Hampton City Schools.
Furthermore, Aaron has expertise in Workforce Development, Workplace Readiness, CTE Coaching, and Business Partnership Coaching through his role at Workplace Readiness Solutions, where he formerly worked. He is passionate about building private/public partnerships, improving distance learning, updating curriculum, and enhancing workforce centers for colleges.
