Aaron North is a prominent figure in the field of education with an impressive background as a teacher, nonprofit leader, policy expert, and foundation executive. He currently serves as the Vice President of Education at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, where he leads a team of program officers to ensure students of all ages in Kansas City have access to excellent educational opportunities. Prior to his role at Kauffman, North was the founding executive director of the Missouri Charter Public School Association, where he advocated for high-quality charter schools across the state. He has also worked in various education roles, including a school resource center director at the University of Minnesota and as a Teach For America corps member, where he taught high school English in rural North Carolina.
North has spearheaded several education programs in Kansas City, such as Kansas City Scholars, the Early Education Funders Collaborative, SchoolSmartKC, and the Real World Learning Initiative. He is also leading the charge to ensure more students have access to technical training through the Skilled KC Technical Institute. North's dedication to education and his expertise in policy and program development have rightfully earned him a place on the Pahara-Aspen Fellowship and positions as board chair of Kauffman Scholars, Inc., and the Ewing Marion Kauffman School.
