    Aaron M. Roth is a first-year doctoral student in computer science at the University of Maryland, focusing on explainable reinforcement learning to create advanced transparent robots and machines for enhanced AI-human collaboration.

    Previously, Aaron worked for five years in three technology startups and as a software engineer in NYC. He later pursued full-time robotics and artificial intelligence research at Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned a Master of Science in Robotics.

    Aaron holds a Master of Science (MS) in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University, a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) in Electrical Engineering, Entrepreneurship, and Nanotechnology from the University of Pennsylvania, and studied at the Noble & Greenough School.

    His professional experience includes roles as a Research Assistant at the University of Maryland and Carnegie Mellon University, Software Engineer at Digital Reasoning Systems, Inc., Software Developer at WishWould, Technology Analyst at Street Solutions Inc., Product Marketing at Akamai Technologies, and involvement with the MIT Mars Gravity Biosatellite Project.
