Customer Service Engineer at Trend Micro

I engage with clients for incidents (e.g. ransomware, breaches) or potential incidents and investigate, perform forensics, monitor the environment (we help get products connected to Vision One and may use specific consoles, such as Cloud One Workload Security and Apex One as a Service, to be able to monitor remotely), and help the client configure their Trend Micro products to better protect them against the perceived, known, and unknown threats.

In time between engagements, we threat hunt, send alerts to customers that may have been unaware that they have a threat in the environment, and still continue to work to improve our products further so that they may better detect new threats.

At Trend Micro, I literally do whatever I need to do.  I handle threat cases to assist customers with concerns and anything they may find, accidentally run into, or have had dropped on their system by an attacker.  I handle support cases for our enterprise endpoint and cloud protection, Deep Security, designed primarily for Windows and Linux servers.

Perform basic computer software maintenance (OS re-imaging, password changes, security policy management, updates).   Inform Tech when a computer gets infected and pull from production to be reimaged.

Backup Tech

Use the Socratic method of tutoring to help students with computer science and mathematics.  This includes programming (Java, Perl, MASM, etc.), mathematics (College Algebra, some Trigonometry, some Calculus I), and anything else random the students bring in, such as how to work GIMP 2 or other programs.

Tutor

Assist patrons, process new books, repair damaged books, manage Adult Graphic Novel section, call overdues, catalog and correct records, assist tech with computers, identify malware or malicious actions and pull computers for reimaging as needed, update website, and do other random things.
