Aaron Belcher is an experienced corporate and M&A attorney, representing a wide range of companies from established public corporations to early-stage startups.

With a transaction experience that includes hostile acquisition defenses, acquisitions of public and private companies for tech serial acquirers, and early-stage M&A exits for startups, Belcher is well-versed in corporate governance, technology transactions, and liquidity event preparation.

Belcher prides himself on providing practical, efficient, and cost-effective solutions to help clients achieve their business goals. He focuses on establishing strong relationships with clients, ensuring he fully understands their businesses and can be readily available to meet their needs.

Offering services such as buy-side representation on acquisitions, divestitures of business units or assets, and day-to-day corporate and business issue advisement, Belcher caters to public companies, private equity funds, and larger VC-backed firms.

For startups and smaller VC-backed companies, Belcher provides sell-side representation in M&A exits and outside corporate counsel services.

Belcher holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Michigan. He is currently a partner at Belcher, Smolen & Van Loo LLP and has previously worked at APB Law, P.C. as a Founding Partner and at Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP as a Technology Corporate and M&A Attorney.
