As an Industry Consultant I am responsible for the success of the market research projects of my clients in the financial market. Besides being responsible for the research part, I'm also keen on giving workshop and presentations to help my clients implementing the results. My role is advising them on marketing and strategy issues. Having a special focus on banking, my clients are the large banks in the Netherlands, but also niche players (f.e. investment and private banks) and regulatory institutions.In this role it’s also very important to keep up with the latest trends and market developments (such as FinTech) and translate them into relevant research studies. And on the other side, present GfK on different stages as an excellent knowledge partner who understands the market. Travelling around the world

The merger between Fortis and ABN AMRO meant that a new marketing proposition needed to be made and that products needed to be changed. I was responsible within ABN AMRO Netherlands for the project that arranged the smooth migration of the Fortis customers to ABN AMRO. I gained a lot of experience during this project by working together with the IT department on the one hand and the business side of the company on the other. Really enjoyed the pioneering and working on tough, new challenges that appeared every week. For example, what to do with customers who have accounts with both banks?

After working as a consultant in this department for a couple of years, I became the head in 2007. The area contained the southwestern part of the Netherlands, with approximately 360.000 customers, 43 branches and 340 fte. I was the immediate supervisor of 9 marketing and sales professionals and a member of the management team.In this job I was the linking pin between the head office of ABN AMRO and the employees in their workplaces. Being responsible for the regional succes of national marketing campaigns and also setting up new local initiatives with third party companies. I love working together with people and like to stay innovative. I am experienced in speaking in front of large audiences, but also developed negotiating skills in tough situations. Strategic thinking about the bigger picture is my second nature, but I like to combine that with a hands on mentality. I always go for long time results and don't believe that quick wins will get you where you want to be. In the period 2007-2009 my area was performing top 3 (out of 24) on the major financial-, as well as customer satisfaction results.
