My last placement, which is both a part of my Professional Placement and Researching Professionalism and Leadership modules, was during the third coronavirus national lockdown. As an Initial Teacher Education (ITE) trainee, I was a critical worker under Government guidance until the 8th March 2021. As a result, I was teaching key worker and vulnerable children face-to-face and preparing materials for children who were home learning. The lockdown bubble had a very high percentage of SEND, including sensory, hearing and visual needs.During this remaining time on my placement, I am working in a class that had a very high percentage of SEND. I have been supporting intervention groups and arranged a variety of CPD opportunities, including positive behaviour for learning, zones of regulation and ADHD awareness. I am also researching an area of Reading for Pleasure as part of my Researching Professionalism and Leadership dissertation.

The role of the Welcome Ambassador involves welcoming, helping and assisting new students at Canterbury Christ Church University around the Canterbury campus. As the current year has displayed a change in circumstances to education providers, welcome ambassadors help students negotiate the one-way system in place on the Canterbury campus, social distancing requirements, distributing smartcards and supporting students with any questions they have.

As part of the Subject in the Curriculum (science) module, BA Primary Education Year 2 students go to a school for half a day to teach science. As a group, we taught a Year 4 class which had a high percentage of EAL and a wide range of abilities. We focused on the classes theme of forces in the theme of James Bond. The lesson had three themes (friction, gravity and air resistance) which had carousel-style activities. In the plenary, there were 'Big Questions' that the children had to research or answer in the next science lesson, such as 'How was gravity created?", "How much does the moon weigh?" and "What would happen if there was gravity in space and no gravity on Earth?"

Within the Alternative Learning Experience module, in the second year of the BA (Hons) Primary Education programme, students are required to secure themselves placement in a setting other than a mainstream primary classroom, where learning may take place.The purpose of this placement is to allow students the opportunity to consider learning in a wider sense and to reflect on how experiences outside the classroom may contribute to learning. Throughout my placement, I researched and observed how Year 7 pupils transitioned from primary into secondary education and how cross-curricular learning is used effectively in a 'broad and balanced curriculum'.

As part of the BA (Hons) Primary Education Professional Placement Year 1 module, I attended placement as a training teacher on Tuesdays and on occasional block week placements throughout the academic year. During my time as a student teacher, I mainly worked in a Year 6 class. In the duration of my time there, I also had experiences in Year 1, 2, 3 and 4. During my time as a Student Teacher in the school, I:•	Taught Mathematics, English (GPS/SPAG), History, Geography and Religious Education to Year 6 and English and Maths to SEN children in a separate learning provision.•	Taught Phonics to Year 1 and support and guided groups and individuals in Year 1, 2, 3 and 4, which included Maths, English and Design and Technology (DT)•	Supported intervention groups, including the SEN provision and worked 1:1 with various students•	Took part in autism training•	Tracked pupils progress and targets•	Shadowed a parents evening, curriculum meeting and playground duties (both break and lunch times)•	Created displays in the classroom and around the school to present students work.•	Met with the Governing Body to understand how the school is run•	Volunteered in a variety of school activities and trips, including a trip for children with English as an Additional Language (EAL) and a Christmas Fair.

Student Placement Officer (Education)

I had previous experience of using Epping Forest College’s social media accounts by being the student marketing officer. I covered the role of the graphic designer and social media and communications officer from May-August 2018 whilst the college was merging with New City College. During my role, I:•Created the new Identification Cards for Staff by adding “Epping Forest College is Part of the New City College Group”. I also created new colours for the Student, Visitor and External Company Identification Cards•Updated and created slides for the student information plasma screens around the campus•Promoted different faculty departments about their study of programmes from Level 1 to Foundation Degrees•Updated the social media accounts, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn through interactive and engaging posts and PNG/GIF images•Promoted job vacancies for the HR Department•Photographed students and celebrated their successes during A-Level and GCSE Results Day

Marketing Coordinator

I won the motion to become Acting Student Union President as I represented over 1,000 students in various meetings and conferences nationwide, worked with a core of 7 executive officers and 30 student reps across each course at Epping Forest College, alongside NUS. I also engaged with the local community, which led to many representational duties where I had to liaise with the press, featuring in Newspapers.During my Student Presidency I:•	Worked in partnership with local/wider communities, representing over 1000 students•	Organised press conferences and ensured appropriate coverage by the local media•	Actively involved in board meetings and key strategic decision making•	Went through 3 Ofsted inspections and a 2-way college merger as board member•	Restructured the Students’ Union and Learner Voice hierarchy and process•	Updated the Students’ Union Constitution, which was approved by the governing body•	Went to conferences nationally to improve student's voice, engagement and to network with other students' unions within the FE and HE sector•	Updated students monthly with our "Student Views" online newsletter•	Developed student voice by organising meetings with Canterbury Christ Church University and Havering Sixth Form College with their organisation of student's voice•	Piloted our Virtual learning platform (ShareEFC) for students to navigate to other services easier, whilst being connected to the new OneDrive server•	Organised trips and events, awards evenings and learner representation conferences which promoted equality, diversity and inclusion.

Acting Students’ Union President

I was elected Student Governor on the Student Union for one year. This gave me valuable insight into the running of an educational establishment and how to campaign. During cross-college meetings with the board and senior staff, I would discuss students’ views and solutions in order to improve the faculty. During my elected 1 year position, I took part in vital decision making, including a merger between New City College, 2 full Ofsted inspections and 4 monitoring Ofsted visits.
