Ilan Visar is a seasoned Senior Pharmacovigilance Specialist with a strong background in the field of drug safety, quality management, data management and training. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from Bar-Ilan University. With a wealth of experience in pharmacovigilance and generating tactical and strategic direction on Pharmacovigilance related activities, he has worked for several pharmaceutical companies, including Omrix Biopharmaceuticals and Teva Pharmaceuticals. He is also skilled in building internal and external relationships, local operating companies' (LOCs) development and implementation of Interface Management Plan, and executing and maintaining PV contracts and agreements. He has successfully organized periodic and ad-hoc safety committee meetings, liaised with multidisciplinary functions within the organization to promote better collaboration and smooth interfaces, and provided first line support in PV audits. In addition, Ilan is an expert in case management, with proficiency in the review, extraction, processing and distribution of ICSRs from various sources. He has coordinated the reconciliation process of the data collected in the Global Safety Database against the Clinical Database and the Enterprise Complaints Management System, and managed the monitoring activities of data quality reviews, both locally and globally. As far as training expertise is concerned, Ilan has led on-site training for a newly established data management unit in Romania (Actavis), and has been the focal point for local affiliates worldwide. He has also led an initiative focusing on cross-training to other colleagues worldwide, and harmonization of internal processes holistically, tutoring new pharmacovigilance associates who joined the organization.
