Alan Haburchak

Alan Haburchak is a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in digital journalism, production, and project management.

Currently, Alan serves as the Post-Production & Tech Supervisor for BuzzFeed Studio's long-form shows and series, as well as audio and podcasts, where he oversees technology, staffing, schedules, publication, and resource planning.

Prior to his role at BuzzFeed, Alan held the position of Director of Studio & Technology at Mic, where he managed video and audio journalism production and launched successful Mic Podcasts shows such as The Payoff and Hot Mic.

Alan also has experience as a Senior Video Journalist at The New York Times, focusing on expanding and developing live video as a storytelling platform for journalists.

At Mashable, he led a team of shooter/editor/producers to create and distribute compelling video content across various platforms.

Before that, at Videolicious, Alan directed outreach and training initiatives for partner news organizations in the mobile video production sector.

Additionally, Alan is an adjunct faculty member at Columbia University's Journalism School, teaching video journalism reporting and production courses.

Alan Haburchak holds a Master's degree in Digital Media from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and a Bachelor's degree in Chinese, History, and Asian Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder.
