Vladimir Arlazarov is a leading specialist in the development and application of recognition systems and data mining. He has worked in IT-related fields since 1997 and has managed more than 70 projects related to the creation and embedding of document recognition systems for various companies such as the Russian Pension Fund, SBERBANK, Moscow Metro, Gazprom structures, and others.
As the CEO of Smart Engines, he leads a team of developers who have created several generations of industrial OCR and document capture systems, including the first industrial system for Russian internal passport recognition. He is also the author of several scientific papers and patents, demonstrating his expertise in OCR products, disruptive technologies, computer vision, and AI.
Before joining Smart Engines, he served as the Head of Laboratory at both the Federal Research Centre “Informatics and Control Systems” The Institute for Systems Analysis of RAS and the Institute for Systems Analysis of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He was also the Head of the CV Department and a senior researcher at the Cognitive Technologies Group.
