As the design strategist, Regina leverages tools from design thinking, futures thinking and systems thinking to advance project and partnership development in collaboration with office staff. Regina conducts empathy research, synthesizes information from research into actionable insights, conceptualizes prototypes and establishes feedback loops to support projects’ continuous improvement. Leveraging her institutional knowledge and 4 years of facilitation experience, Regina supports the design and curation of meetings, charrettes, workshops and other experiences for current and potential partners.

Design Strategist

As the Research and Design Manager, Regina’s role sat at the intersection of research, design and strategy. Regina led the strategic research team for the office. The research team guides strategy and project development by exploring emerging issues and trends, social change, best practices and potential partners from the private, public and social sectors. In addition, Regina is a lead facilitator trained in design thinking and futures thinking methodologies.Key outcomes: - Led the logistics and research of an exploratory visit to Dubai and produced a summary visit report outlining key learnings and outcomes- Leveraged cross-cultural knowledge to successfully hire and manage a team of 5 summer interns from across Sub-Saharan Africa countries as part of the marketing and content development of an online platform that will connect 20,000 young African leaders- Co-designed a 26 page collateral piece highlighting ASU’s involvement in the community

Research and Design Manager

- Established the research unit including hiring, training and supervision of 1 full-time staff and 4-5 students- Co-wrote a $250,000 planning grant for the Scholars Community Platform and provided design support for the full proposal which led to a $9.7 million grant- Assisted in developing a $30 million budget and designed graphics for a grant proposal to continue the MasterCard Foundation Scholars program at ASU
