Jonathan's specialties include strategy, place, stakeholder involvement, complex, integrated, and multi-disciplinary design, without losing perspective or head.

He pursued studies in Geography, Health Services Management, and Sustainability at Newcastle, Birmingham, and South Bank Universities, focusing on geography during his BA at Newcastle University.

In his professional journey, Jonathan Smales has served as the Executive Chairman at Human Nature (Places) and Beyond Green Group. He has also held positions as the Chief Executive at The Earth Centre Charitable Trust, Managing Director, and International Trustee at Greenpeace (UK), and a Research Associate at Management Advisory Service (NHS).
