Joni Deutsch is a rising star in the world of public media, with a background in broadcast development, audience engagement, and podcast creation. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Advertising and Public Relations from West Virginia University and a Master's degree in Strategic Communication from American University. Her radio career began at WLUR 91.5 FM in Lexington, Virginia, where she worked as a music director and assistant general manager. She then joined West Virginia Public Broadcasting as the creator and host of the A Change of Tune program and the critically acclaimed 30 Days of #WVmusic podcast.

In 2015, Deutsch became assistant producer and guest host for NPR Music's live performance radio program Mountain Stage, making her the youngest host of a nationally syndicated public radio program at the age of 24. Currently, she works as the podcast manager for WFAE 90.7, Charlotte's NPR station, leading nationally recognized podcast teams like She Says, FAQ City, and SouthBound. Deutsch is also the creator and host of Charlotte music podcast Amplifier, which was named Best Podcast by Charlotte Magazine and honored for Excellence in Innovation by the local Edward R. Murrow Awards and The Webby Awards.

Deutsch's strong communication skills and creative marketing style have led to features on NPR's Morning Edition and Weekend Edition, Here & Now, NPR Music, Current, Nieman Lab, American Press Institute, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. She has also spoken at major public media and podcasting conferences across the nation.
