Sarah Pedlow is a multi-talented artist, designer, and cultural researcher with a passion for traditional textiles and cultural preservation. She is the owner and designer of ThreadWritten Textiles, an organization that provides traditional textile education, textile tours, and cultural preservation services. With her extensive knowledge in teaching, cultural research and documentation, social and digital communication, visual design, small business management, writing, art-making, and installation, she creates curricula, organizes and teaches workshops in embroidery technique and culture from Transylvania, Romania, net-making, and other textile techniques based on her artists residencies and travel in Hungary, Romania, Iceland, Mexico, Ukraine, and The Netherlands. Moreover, Sarah creates, organizes, and leads cultural textile retreats with sightseeing and hands-on embroidery workshops in Portugal, Romania, and other destinations.Sarah's previous professional experience includes roles such as massage therapist at International Orange, architecture department archivist at Cornell University, architecture department woodshop supervisor at New York Institute of Technology, and artist's assistant at Tara Donovan Studios. Sarah has a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and French Studies from Scripps College and a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts: Installation, Mixed media from Rutgers University.
