Tsuyoshi Ito, a successful venture capitalist, founder, and CEO of Beyond Next Ventures, has become a name to reckon within the startup ecosystem of Japan and India. A Tokyo Institute of Technology alumnus with a master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Ito has a wide range of skills and expertise in the medical, healthcare, robotics, Agri-tech, and AI sectors. As a general manager and group leader of technology-focused groups at JAFCO, the largest venture capital firm in Japan, Ito was involved in investing in seed/early-stage medical devices, healthcare, materials, and robotics. Ito also served on the board of directors for six seed/early-stage portfolio companies, including CYBERDYNE Inc., Spiber Inc., and Quantum Biosystems Inc. He founded Beyond Next Ventures with an aim to provide seed funding and support to fledgling startups in Japan and India. Ito is actively involved in several acceleration programs, including the Blockbuster TOKYO program in conjunction with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. His overarching goals are to foster a robust international entrepreneurial ecosystem and contribute to global health by transforming Tokyo.
