We also work with troubled companies in refocusing the business model and/or finding an exit.  Entrepreneurial Ventures’ role varies depending on the stage of the company.  Generally, we take on an active advisory board position with early stage companies helping with strategy development, implementation plans and industry specific networking.  We also frequently act as a mentor to first time CEOs as they address all of the business and organizational issues that they face.  Our approach to later stage and troubled companies can be a combination of advisory board and a straight consulting role.

It is with great excitement that I announce my next step in my career. I am joining a new venture capital fund, Broom Ventures, as a Venture Partner. We are pleased to announce we will officially launch on February 12th, 2020. On this date, we will begin investing in people and technology.

Through years building early-stage technology companies, we have learned important lessons about why some companies succeed and why many fail. We seek companies with exemplary teams, leadership, and culture, and we invest more than money: talent, coaching, co-investor relationships, and collaboration with aligned communities.

LifePod Solutions, is poised to transform how people around the world care for their parents and other elders as they age in place. LifePod Solutions is preparing to launch LifePod, a revolutionary new product and SaaS service that can best be thought of as “Alexa for the elderly” and is captured in the linked video (below). LifePod enables seniors to use their voice to live more comfortably and safely in their home by providing essential services such as news/weather updates, medication reminders, access to transport, control of smart-home appliances, and fall detection. LifePod also offers the children and caregivers of these elders a powerful new way - using a mobile portal and AI based on local sensors - to monitor, keep in touch with, and support their elderly loved ones without having to be there in person. LifePod will notify doctors, caregivers and family members if and when emergencies happen and provide daily reports summarizing an elder’s activities periodically as needed.

Worked with the Founder, CEO, to bring business concept to to market reality.  While at GreatCall we built a core team, built out internal systems and underlying cellular infrastructure, worked with Samsung in finalizing the cellular handset, and launched initial service. We also secured a term sheet from a top tier venture firm and recruited a permanent COO.  Remained on the Advisory Board through July, 2008.
