John McGuinness

John McGuinness is an accomplished attorney and compliance professional with more than two decades of experience in the industry, specializing in private wealth management and alternative investments.

His expertise includes overseeing private equity funds, hedge funds, real estate funds, infrastructure funds, private debt funds, separately managed accounts, and funds of funds.

Throughout his career, John has effectively managed intricate and multi-jurisdictional transactions, regulatory examinations, and compliance programs for renowned firms such as Summit Trail Advisors, StepStone Group, and Goldman Sachs.

He is dedicated to providing high-quality and practical solutions that are in line with the business objectives and values of his clients and stakeholders.

John McGuinness pursued his education at St. Benedict Joseph Labre, earned a B.A. in History from Fordham University, obtained his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, and accomplished a Regents Diploma from Archbishop Molloy High School.

With a rich organizational background, he has served as the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Summit Trail Advisors, previously held the role of Chief Compliance Officer and Deputy General Counsel at StepStone Group, as well as Vice President at Goldman Sachs.

His prior roles include Associate in the Investment Management Group at Linklaters, Asset Management Associate at Fried Frank, Community Development Project Pro Bono Legal Extern at Legal Aid Society, and Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate at Fried Frank.
