Michael Gacek is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal ‘s Private Equity Services Group in Chicago. With more than a decade of mergers and acquisitions experience, Mr. Gacek specializes in providing buy-side and sell-side financial accounting due diligence services to private equity and strategic investors. He has experience across a wide range of industries, including general manufacturing and distribution, waste management and environmental services, aerospace and defense, industrial and consumer products, automotive, telecommunications, and consumer and business services.  In addition to his domestic  transaction experience, Mr. Gacek has been involved with transactions for U.S.-based private equity and strategic buyers spanning across Canada, Europe and Mexico.  Mr. Gacek has led or participated in more than 300 transactions and focuses on determining acquisition targets' quality of earnings and working capital requirements through analysis of financial statements and discussions with key management. He has also completed various carve-out and stand-alone statements for strategic buyers selling their operating segments.
