I co-founded Progressio Foundation with Dr Paul Kloppenborg on May 1st, 1989.  As young entrepreneurs with a passion for human progress through entrepreneurship, we were then leading some of the world's first Public-Private Partnerships, about which Paul wrote his PhD Thesis, which I then contributed to and edited it into a book "The Quest for Utilization Value: Economy as the Good Ordering of Interests".  This and my own booklet "Towards the civic economy", 1992, have remained our mantra at Progressio, ie to build a citizen-economy, in the Greek tradition of oikonomia and eudomonia and subsequently planetary-focused in line with 'Gaia', our living earth.  30 years and 300 projects later, we are still passionate about this work, which the world increasingly recognises as vital to our own survival. Anita Roddick's pioneering effort to launch the first-ever business school based on values, ethics, sustainability, accountability.  I was fortunate to be asked by her to be Development Director (following 2 months of conversation in my capacity as co-founder of Social Venture Network Europe) designed the first teaching modules, helped build a network of supporters and clients during a 2-year period.  The New Academy subsequently agreed to join up with the University of Bath, which expanded on the original idea.

Progressio Botswana developed the first Public-Private Partnership in Africa, the Gaborone Fairgrounds.  The company was set up by Dr Paul Kloppenborg to lead and complete the project, which was successfully funded by the World Bank and the government of Botswana.
Progressio Consultancy was created at the same time as Progressio Foundation, to develop 'civic enterprise' projects in partnership with Heidemij, which intended to acquire a majority stake, at the when Frank Schreve was CEO.  Schreve suddenly departed to head Rabobank and the acquisition was stalled.  The company was then dissolved.
