Joseph Jacks is the founder and General Partner at OSS Capital, an institutional venture capital firm focused exclusively on commercial open-source startups worldwide. With over $200 million in assets under management, the firm's portfolio serves over 30 million users, and their primary goal is to be the first institutional investor at a startup's incorporation. Prior to his current role, Jacks served as the founding lead seed investor at various startups such as W4 Games, Spacedrive, BoxyHQ, Theatre.js, and many more. He is a former organizer at the Open Core Summit and the founder/chair Emeritus at KubeAcademy, LLC, donated to the Linux Foundation.

Jacks' education background includes completing his pre-school through high school study at Jacks Academy. His experience in the venture capital space has made him an expert in commercial open-source startups, gaming, data, AI/ML, and middleware infrastructure, among others.
